A New Chapter in Roanoke: Your Questions, Answered

It’s been a little while since we made the move, and we’ve had a lot of people asking:

Why Roanoke? Why now? How’s it going?

So here’s the behind-the-scenes scoop on what led us here, what’s changed, and what’s next.

Why Did We Move?

In short—we were ready for an upgrade.

We’d outgrown our previous space in Christiansburg, and while we still had loyal customers and steady growth, the pace of that growth had slowed. After several years of shifting regulations and evolving customer habits, we knew it was time to reach a new audience and plant deeper roots somewhere fresh.

We weren’t actively looking, but sometimes life hands you the perfect opportunity when you’re just barely ready to take it. And that’s exactly what happened.

So How Did You Find This Gorgeous New Spot?

The short version? I was visiting my longtime bestie Michaela as she was moving into her new salon space—and I instantly fell in love with the unit next door.

The light, the layout, the location… it just felt right. I called Chris and asked if he wanted to move. His response?

“Whatever you say, boss.”

We made the leap—and while it definitely came with some risks and a rocky few months—we don’t regret a thing.

How’s Business Been So Far?

Honestly? It started slow.

There was a dip in business, which we expected. But what we didn’t expect was how confusing our move would be for people due to issues with our Google Business listing. Even folks who knew we had moved were still getting sent to the wrong place. It’s wild how much we all rely on that little pin on the map.

That said, things have been steadily improving—and we are starting to see the kind of momentum we hoped for. The people here in Roanoke are amazing, and the vibe in our new space is just what we needed.

What Do You Love About the New Location?

Pretty much everything.

We’re close to downtown—but not so close that parking’s a nightmare. You won’t get stuck in downtown traffic, and it’s super easy to hop off 581 at Orange Ave and pop in. Plus, having Michaela next door (a friend of 10+ years) just makes it feel like home.

And on a personal note:

Chris and I are thinking about starting a family soon. We love being self-employed, and we want our business to grow alongside our lives. Roanoke just made sense for this next chapter—for both our future and our present.
