The cannabis plant is known by many names. One of the most familiar names for the plant is “marijuana”. For prohibitionists 100 years ago, the word emphasized the drug’s foreignness and appealed to the xenophobia of the time. Today, the word is a celebration of prohibition and a gross reminder of racial prejudice that was spearheaded by people like Harry Anslinger.

BIG thank you to Decriminalize Nature Richmond and everyone who attended the workshops this past Saturday at The Happy Skunk! We were pleased with turnout. William is super knowledgeable and we learned a lot. We look forward to having Decrim Nature back in the area again in the future.

After 2 months hiatus, we’re super excited to be back in business! We’re making a few changes as our new business continues to grow during a rather strange year. We are wearing masks and gloves. 😷 Curbside service is available. 🚗 We encourage customers to view our menu online and call ahead for food orders. 📱 You can browse and purchase most retail items online. 💻

We opened for business in October 2019 with a handful of CBD products from one brand and a smoothie menu in development on a notepad. (You'll notice some of our original smoothies are still on the menu!) 

John Hildreth christened our space with music and some of our best friends brought the good vibes. Our first customer and friend Michaela ordered the first smoothie, the PB&J!
